Metros are the future of mass transit in urban conurbations. In the
developing world in particular, elevated lines carried on viaducts
snaking through cities are now a common sight. We provide the
viaducts, as well as the associated rail system.
Delhi Metro
Mott MacDonald carried out the detailed design of an 8km stretch of
elevated metro which runs between Yamuna Bank station and Vaishali
station, as part of the Delhi Metro development.
Kuala Lumpur
Monorail
We were appointed as the independent checking engineer for this new
monorail project, which consists of 8.6km of elevated monorail twin
guideway alignment through the central business district of Kuala
Lumpur.
Singapore Mass Rapid
Transit System
Mott MacDonald was awarded the design contracts for the first
two of the four sections of the Singapore MTR which required the
railway to be carried on elevated structures. The length of
viaducts on our design contracts totalled 10.3km.
