Our portfolio includes trusses, box girders and arches and we work with traditional materials such as concrete and steel plus modern composites. We’ve designed, checked and supervised innovative bridges around the world, some of
which have superseded world records for span length.


Developing medium span bridges requires a diverse range of skills and experience. At Mott MacDonald we can handle all forms of concrete construction methods – balanced cantilever (insitu or precast), incremental launching, span-by-span (insitu or precast) and of course the basic precast beam and slab layout. With steel bridges, we can cover plate girders, boxes, trusses and steel/concrete composite forms, and we have the necessary welding and fabrication technology to back up our analysis and design skills.
